This beautiful, colorful boy is looking for a new family!
Rio is a 15 year old leopard Appaloosa (grade) gelding. He’s about 15hh and solidly built. He’s been ridden English and Western, has lovely gaits and great ground manners – bathes, hauls, stands tied, good for farrier, etc!
Rio is a project. He is not a finished horse, not a pack someone down the trail horse. He needs a confident hand with the time to work with him and build his trust and confidence.
He loves to jump while being lunged, and would probably make an adorable jumper for someone – I have trotted and cantered him over ground poles but not jumped him. I have also ridden him outside, and another trainer had him out on trail several times and he did well for her!
His current owner just doesn’t have the time in her life to devote to him and therefore is looking for a new place for him to land. He’s located in Yamhill, OR. Lower four figures.
