The American Sugarbush Harlequin Draft Association is a registry for a rare draft breed developed in the 20th century in the United States. With strict conformational and genetic testing standards, we intend to put forward a high quality ASHDA horse with every breeding that takes place. Our breed can boast many accomplished show and working horses and has proved time and time again that a draft horse can compete, and win, with the standard horse- especially when bred for versatility! ASHDA has its own show and ambassador programs as well as a Hardship program to register existing high quality LP drafts and an Improvement and Approved Cross program that outside horses which meet our breeding standards can apply to.
